There are hundreds of worthy causes and organizations that need your time, talent and treasures.  We encourage our members to contact nonprofit agencies for volunteer opportunities and for giving opportunities.  Consider contacting the Social Action Committees at our area synagogues.

One online guide is CharityNavigator.org which evaluates over 9,000 organizations. VolunteerMatch.org and GreatNonProfits.org also have lists of worthy organizations.

Be an informed giver, do your “due diligence” so that you know where your donation goes and can follow up to see your impact.
